Canon PIXMA TS5150 Printer Reviews– Completely new is the Pixma TS5150 as an input model fully equipped with a paper cassette – however, with disposable ink cartridges. The TS6150 series only offers a small upgrade as the cheapest entry point between printers with individual ink cassettes and cartridges. The new Pixma TS8150 series and the TS9150 design line are both optical and functional. In addition to the new cartridges in three sizes, the pivot of gray ink in a blue photo is the biggest innovation. All models are available in different colors. At the same time, Canon also introduces newly created TR series printers with fax and ADF.
The simple Pixma TS5050 with an open supply of the back and five unique cartridges is retained and priced above the new TS5150 – even if the model number suggests otherwise.

The new TS5150, which is about 105 euros, is not impressive. In addition to the black version, it is also available as a TS5151 in a white mantle.

Functionally, the newcomer largely corresponds to the high-class TS6000 series and therefore has a dust-proof cassette and also an open paper compartment with rear feed for spontaneous photo printing, labels or other special media. When using plain paper, 2 x 100 sheets can be processed simultaneously. The possibility of borderless printing is, in any case, self-evident in this class. The front paper tray rises about 4.5 cm from the front of the machine and is equipped with a lid.

Despite the identical cartridges (and therefore the identical printhead), Canon has a print speed significantly higher than 13 ipm in S / W and quite vaguely 6.8 ipm in color after the iso measurement. The smallest ink droplets are 2 picoliters and are printed on a 4,800 dpi screen. However, due to the 3-color combi, no “real” black can be printed for photo printing and therefore only produced by mixing the other paintings. The black pigment is used exclusively for printing on common paper for texts and documents.

Display and operation
The user interface is now placed in the front and must be opened manually before each print if it has not been done. The same applies to the paper discharge tray, which must necessarily be removed because of its extremely small design.
All configurations can be seen on the rather small 2.4-inch screen (untouched) and operated via buttons and control buttons. An SD card reader or a USB host for memory sticks is, however, in vain.
